My Story
My name is Greg Foss and I believe in working hard and helping others. For over 30 years, my vocation as a consultant has kept me at the intersection of business and people. Over those years I've had the privilege of working with start-up entrepreneurs, first, second and third generation family businesses, franchises, charitable groups, and several Fortune 500 corporations.
One thing experience has taught me; the same business fundamentals that top performing, billion-dollar corporation leverage for their success happen the same way at the neighborhood auto parts store, bakery, or dry cleaners. The top performers in any industry always focus on less to accomplish more.
The Execution Gap
Despite the enormous amount of time and energy that goes into business planning, most companies have little to show for the effort. On average, corporate America only delivers about 63% of the financial results they set out to achieve. This is called The Execution Gap; the gap between the objective and how much was actually delivered.
One problem? Focus on everything and deliver less! In the excitement to achieve success, we tend to go after everything instead of the 2-3 specific activities that has the highest probability of leading to success.
Example: Joe wants to lose weight and get into better shape. Let's say his objective is to lose fifteen pounds and run in a marathon on July 4th. The activities that determine if Joe will achieve his objective involve diet and exercise. The specific daily activities might be something like no more than 2200 calories per day and 45 minutes of exercise.
We’ve designed The Velocity Strategic Planning process to help you close this gap quickly with clear language, identified priorities, daily, weekly action items and performance monitoring.
The success of your business won’t be decided by what you’ve written in a Business Plan. It will be determined by how you respond when reality is DIFFERENT than what you expected.
Our Velocity Advisor Program is designed to help you manage this gap. Our weekly, monthly or quarterly business meeting is designed to ‘course correct if necessary” and focus on key activities and Wildly Important Goals identified during the planning process. It is the solution, before you have a problem.
On behalf of myself and the Velocity Team, Thank You for considering us for the needs of your business.
